Summer Camps


2019 Summer Camp Registration is Open!

Happy Horse of Course has made some big changes to our camps this year.  We are offering a variety of camps, both full day and half day, for various ages and riding levels.
Please read through the descriptions about each camp before deciding which camp is best for your child.       
    
Advanced Camp - Half Day 

June 17-21  9am-1pm

Ages 10 yrs – 18 yrs

Open to riders who are working with a trainer a minimum of once a week and have been riding for several years. Rider must be confident at walk, trot, canter and gallop and have a basic understanding of different riding disciplines. The camp will have designated days of focus: Natural-horsemanship, Dressage, Jumping, Western riding and Trail-riding. Each day will be dedicated to going over all the basics and advancing in each discipline.  This camp is focused on improving riding skills and expanding skill base across disciplines.  This camp will accept up to 8 participants.

Evaluation lesson may be required for registration.



Intermediate Riders – Half-day
July 22-26    9am-12pm
Ages 9yrs - 18 yrs

For riders with riding experience who are comfortable walking, trotting and are at least working on the canter.  We will be going over all basic riding positions and safety rules around horses in addition to daily riding lessons. The camp will have designated days of focus: Natural-horsemanship, Dressage, Jumping, Western riding and Trail-riding. Each day will be dedicated to going over all the basics and advancing in each discipline.  This camp will take up to 8 participants.
Evaluation lesson may be required for registration.   FULL

Intermediate/ Advanced beginners - Full Day

July 8-12   9am – 3pm
Ages 9yrs – 18 yrs
This camp is for riders with riding experience who are comfortable walking, trotting and have at least been introduced to canter.

Full day camp includes a time at the creek for lunch (food not provided) and afternoon horseback games/horse related activities. For example: riding bareback, bathing a horse, learning the anatomy of the horse, and the pieces of various tack. 

This camp is designed to move the rider one level up in their riding experience. We will cover all basic riding positions and safety rules around horses. This camp will accept up to 8 participants.

Evaluation lesson may be required for registration.   FULL


Beginner Camp – Half-Day

July 22-26   1pm-4pm

Aug 5-9   9am-12pm

Aug 5-9   1pm-4pm
Ages 8yrs – 18yrs

This camp is for anyone who always wanted to learn how to care for, handle and ride a horse. We will learn about the nature of the horse, how to be safe and communicate correctly with these amazing animals. We will learn how to tack up a horse, how to control a horse on the ground and all the basics of riding a horse in walk and trot. Open to everyone with limited or no experience around horses. These camps will accept up to 8 participants per session.  FULL


NOTE: For the week of August 5-9th, you may register for both morning and afternoon sessions for the special price of $500 for both sessions.  If you choose not to pick up your child between the sessions, you will need to provide a lunch and pay an additional fee of $50 for the week for the supervision during the break between camps.



Kinder Horse Camp – Half-day

July 1-3    9am-12pm

July 29-31   9am-12pm 
Ages 6yrs - 9 yrs
This half-day camp has three fun-filled days for the young beginner.  We will have time on the horse as well as opportunities to work on correct grooming practices, learning how to tack up a horse, and other activities such as bathing the horses. These camps will take up to 6 participants per session.

Returning camper discount.  10% off camp fees for 2018 campers.

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the camp fee is due with your reservation.  RESERVATION IS NOT SECURE UNTIL DEPOSIT IS RECEIVED.

Upon receipt of a completed registration form, we will send an invoice for the deposit and you have the option of paying electronically, through Venmo, or with a check.



Several camps are almost full so make sure there is room before sending a deposit.  We will start a wait list.
